Quality thermal putty, which is used e.g. to replace thermal pads on GPU RAM.  Thermal putty has the following advantages

• It can be conveniently applied in different amounts and areas, the thermal pad needs to be cut to size, which requires more time and effort
• It can be conveniently applied in different thicknesses, so it is suitable for graphics cards requiring different thicknesses of thermal pads
• application of one tube of thermal putty is cheaper than buying thermal pads of different thicknesses
• thermal putty generally retains its thermal conductivity properties longer, while thermal pads can dry out and lose effectiveness over time

The thermal putty has a thermal conductivity of 6W/m-K, making it equal to some of the cheaper thermal conductive pastes. It has a higher density than thermal paste, making it easier to form the desired size and thickness of the layer.
